Okay, I know you can do anything on the Internet these days, but come on. Applying for jobs online? Seriously? If you’re applying for a tele-commuting job, sure. But really, is it that hard to go apply for jobs in person? I do not understand what people are thinking. Has anyone really ever gotten hired that way? If it says to apply online only, I can understand. However, the only thing you’re showing a potential employer otherwise, is that you’re too lazy to come to their business and apply for their job.
If you’re too lazy to apply in person for a job, it says that you’re not exactly going to be the most reliable person to hire. Now, that’s not the case with a lot of people, but that’s the definite impression that is out there. I know that people are hard workers, they want jobs, but if you want it, go out and get it, don’t wait for it to come to you. In this job market, you need to put your best foot forward and applying for a job online does not do that for you. Especially since digital technology is not all that reliable. How many times have we sent out emails only to find they have not been received?
Do you think job applications are just magically immune to getting lost in transmission. Do you think that job applications are immune to being glanced over the way emails are? I just don’t understand why people think that applying for jobs online is a good idea.
