I can’t believe I actually did that!

This should have been an easy subject for me, but I kept putting it off until the last minute. I’m bad that way sometimes. But I digress,I’m supposed to be writing about a “did I do that?” moment. I’d have to say that the biggest one of those moments came just a few days ago, honestly. Last week, my husband and I went to sign the mortgage. It’s not our mortgage alone since my mother’s name is on it as well, but it’s the first major thing that he and I have done together since we got married. This is a major thing for me and after the papers were signed, I just sat there looking at the amortization papers going, “Wtf did I just do?”

I’ve had other moments that have been more life changing, but this was far more important than any of those.

And that would be my entry for the week. Short, sweet and to the point.

I think that this is o ne of the best topics. Especially since I’ve been on livejournal for going on six years now. April 29, 2001. 3500+ Entries. Amazing isn’t it? I started off with a few talker friends on my list, the ones who brought me to livejournal in the first place. I swore then that I wouldn’t get sucked in and at the time, I didn’t. I was in the midst of relationship problems, so I used it as a place to release frustrations and deal with problems. As time went by and I had moved across country, I lost touch with my friends. I had limited internet access, and everyone else was around when I couldn’t be. It sucked, but I used livejournal as a means to keep up with what was going on.

Things have changed since that time, I’ve reconnected with school friends, I’ve made new friends, reconnected with old friends that I’d thought I lost forever and unfortunately, lost friends as well. But I think the hardest thing has been realizing that livejournal is much like being in high school with it’s cliques, it’s outsiders and drama. It’s a popularity contest, even though many of us don’t realize it or participate. It’s a bunch of bullies, even though we don’t try.

But most of all, there are still the true friends, the friends that will be here when the smoke settles, that will be there to say, “Hey it’s okay, we love you.” The friends that will understand that you’re not perfect, that will love you despite it all. Livejournal is like life, and that is the hardest truth of them all.

Joey Fatone.. can dance REALLY well.
Leeza Gibbons needed the stick removed from her ass. Really.
Paulina Porizkova.. who? I had to look her up. She was alright, but not memorable really.
Laila Ali has bigger muscles than her partner! She’s not bad as a dancer though.
Clyde Drexler is crazy tall.. wow. He needs to dance more, he was barely moving at times, but he was okay
Shandi Finnessey is not bad but not great, however I want to know WTF happened to her accent.. She has one on Lingo and Playmania… tonight, I didn’t hear it.
Apolo Anton Ono is better than I expected.. must watch dancing, not the hips.. uh.. *stare*
Heather Mills did really well. I was still waiting for her leg to fly off and hit Bruno. Sorry, but I don’t like her
John Ratzenberger has Jerry Springer beat, and that’s about all I can say for him. He wasn’t as bad as I expected.

And what is with the red dresses??
