My sister was up last week. I forgot to mention this in all the other stuff going on. Rob and I had gone to do some stuff.. I think we were hunting local strawberries.. and when we got home, she showed up at the house. It was nice since we hadn’t seen her since she was up in January. She told us that she was moving back home. I’m glad for that, I think that it’ll be a better environment for Sam. He has been diagnosed with Aspherger’s, which doesn’t surprise us at all.

— Several hours later, I resume the post. LOL

I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole Chris Benoit murder-suicide. It takes a damn sick person to do what happened there. Was it ‘roid rage’? I have a really hard time with that. If the murders had taken place at the same time, then I could believe it. But, they didn’t. According to the report in the AJC, Benoit’s wife was strangled on Friday. Then hours later, their son Daniel was choked to death. Then several hours later, hanged himself in his weight room. This took place over the course of 24 hours. Would it be ‘roid rage’ for that long? I don’t know. There were several text messages that were sent as well, posted on the WWE site time line. To me, they seem like a plea for someone to come find/help him. Did he do this? I don’t know. Did someone else make it look like he did? I don’t know, but it’s certainly a possibility. Will we ever know the truth? I doubt it.

Other things I wanna talk about? There is nothing, really. At least not today.

Today has been a day of getting my personal ducks in a proverbial row. And I feel really good about it.

When my father passed away in 1998, there was no will. He didn’t have anything to will to anyone, really. Other than the property that we live on. Should he have had a will? Yes. But that’s my dad for you. So anyway, we’ve been paying the property taxes and such without it being in my mother’s name, nor mine. It’s still in his name.

After doing some research on the STAR exemption for New York State property owners, we found that my mother is not eligible since the property is not in her name. Sucks, right? Yeah. So I tell her, “look, we gotta change this, like asap.” So she tells me no, it’s too expensive. I tell her, just let me investigate. So I did. We have now started the process to do it. It’s not as expensive or complicated as she thought.

So yay, duck stuffed in it’s proper spot. The only thing I worry is that one of my half brothers is going to pull something. I don’t know why they would, but I still worry.

I’ve still got a bunch of other ducks thinking they can wander off, but I will get them reigned back in soon. Most of them involve writing and money. Mmm money… *homer drool*

One other duck that’s out of place in my pond is djing. I don’t really know what to say about it, really. There’s so much *stuff* going on there. Good, bad, in between. I miss Juiced Radio being a happy, yet dysfunctional family. But, there is a silver lining there, somewhere.

That’s all I’ll say about that, and really all I have to say for now. Got stuff I should be doing. Even tho I just wanna play WoW. o.O Yeah I wanna play games that I normally wouldn’t. Shush :p

I’m still waiting for my copy of The Harlequin. I ended up re-ordering through bn. It was supposed to ship 6/11. Didn’t happen. Pushed off to 6/18. I’m not holding my fucking breath on it.

The last few weeks have been crazy stressful for me and I haven’t really talked about it much. Why? I dunno. It’s just the way I am a lot of the time.

Juiced Radio is in the middle of a server transition and it’s been a lot of work. I am doing the majority of the work. Which I really don’t mind at all. I enjoy it. I could enlist Lex or KlasiQ to some of the stuff, but there isn’t a whole lot to do other than transfer files and recompile stuff. It would take me longer to explain how to do it than do it myself. But the transition and move itself isn’t what’s stressing me out.. now. It was, when we were trying to move the major server over and not sure we’d have our server to move to. Now? It’s not bad.

Yesterday, I conquered the one thing that was left that was stressing me out. The IRC network reconfiguration. But I sat for a few hours and took apart everything and rebuilt it, and managed to do it without crying, or begging for help. The only help that I needed when it was all said and done, was to have the ip pool updated. So I feel really good about that.

The thing that’s stressing me out the most now is the personal side of why things are being transitioned. I’m not going to go into it here, but I do know that the whole thing has really wore on me emotionally. To the point where it’s causing me to have my eye get all twitchy again. Not a good thing, but at least I know enough to walk away and take a break when it starts.

And I’ve been reading. YAY. I finished the Kitty Norville books and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of them. In fact, I can’t wait until the new one is out in the winter. I’m waiting patiently to get my Anita book. I will be devouring The Harlequin as soon as it hits my hot little hands. Especially with the few things I’ve heard about it being like the older novels. I like smut, but there’s a line that she crossed and she needs to go back.

Tomorrow is going to be kind of interesting. I was told Friday that Rob’s work is having a picnic. I figured it would be on the weekend, but no, they are having it on a Tuesday. Yep, Tuesday.. tomorrow. Normally it’s optional, but no longer. We are required to show up. Fine. I ask, “do we need to do a dish to pass?” I get told, no the owner is supplying everything. Cool! No big thing then. I find out at noon today that we do indeed have to take something. Okay, under normal circumstances, this would be fine, make a pasta salad and it’s all good. However, I have nothing in the house to make it with! Bonus? He works until 12:30am. YAY! I get to get up in the morning and make pasta salad! *thud*

It should be at least vaguely interesting. I will take my camera and possibly my laptop, so if I get bored, I can write or something. I have a few things that I wanted to do tomorrow, but I guess I can do them afterward or something. It’s not even at the nice park. It’s at the crappy one with nothing to do. Feh. :/

I called Barnes & Noble customer service. It went something like this..

“Why is my pre-order not shipping until July. The book released on schedule.”
“What’s your order number?”
“BN123456″
“Conform your information”
“x@y.com 123 blahblah way, blah blah, NY 12345″
“And the book title?”
“The Harlequin”
“Well it looks like the release date from our supplier was pushed back.”
“Really? I know someone else who ordered the same book online and got their shipping notice.”
“Then we must not have gotten enough to cover our pre-orders and that’s when we expect more.”
“Really? She ordered yesterday. After release. Why is she getting it and not me?”
“I don’t know.”
“Cancel my order.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to wait?”
“Cancel my order.”
