Random Thoughts

Feb-29-2008 By tyralyn

So I’ve been thinking about getting a different bed. We’ve only had this one for two or three years now, but it’s exceptionally hard and uncomfortable. I wake up with a sore back every day. I wake up half way up the wall from trying to get comfortable at night. It’s really not fun to sleep on that bed, even though it’s still practically brand new.

If I had a choice, I’d get one of the new memory foam beds. Something that’s comfortable and easy on my back. Then maybe I’d fall asleep at night instead of laying awake or tossing and turning. Unfortunately, they’re still out of my price range. Soon, though, I will have one, even if I have to kill for it. >;)

I should just get one of the foam mattress toppers instead to see if that does any good, instead of my feather bed.

It’s my party…

..and I’ll cry if I want to. Not really. I don’t want to cry. I don’t have a reason to. :P I spent today making blinkies. I finished making 40 blinking kitty blinkies. It took me forever to make the damned things. Then I got the urge to make new ones. *head desk* dumb idea! I spent far too much time making the examples. I think they’re cute tho so in the end it will be worth it.. IF people could be bothered reading the frikkin posts. I updated my rules and even linked them.. yet I still get 10,000 different subject lines! Ugh. I’ve been considering opening for gallery requests, but I’m not sure I want to.

I still haven’t gotten past the first few words of the story I started, but I’ve decided that it’s alright. It will come when it’s ready to come. I can’t fight the brick wall and win. I have to find a way to get around it, rather than through it. And to do that, I’m going to just keep doing whatever I’m doing and eventually the wall will move. So yeah.

I had more I wanted to say, but my brain is failing atm and I can’t remember what it was. Duh. Anyway, I’m going to bed now.

As A Writer…

Feb-27-2008 By tyralyn

As a writer, one of the most difficult things that to do is to publish a book and get it out there. That’s why self publishing is a wonderful option. You can get your book out there without having the worry of it being rejected by the publisher. You get to keep more control over your book, you get more say over what happens, including the price point. Self publishing, however, isn’t always as easy as it may seem. Without having the outside help from an editor and publishing company, you have to be more detailed oriented and pay more attention to your writing. Perhaps employ an outside editor or even a friend with an eye for detail to help you out.

But with Author House, you get the ease of publishing with the help of a publishing company that can help you publish a book without the headache of having to worry about the deadlines a publishing company puts on you. You get to do it yourself, with a twist.

Writing and Rambles

Feb-26-2008 By tyralyn

So, I have a story that’s itching to be written, but when I sat down to write it, it wouldn’t come. I got the first 15 or so words and then it was gone. I haven’t been able to write anything more than a half-assed poem since November. It’s frustrating me so much right now. I don’t know what happened to my muse and my normal writing music isn’t even working, so I changed that up and went with something else. That’s not even helping me.

I also have this blanket I want to get finished, but I haven’t done anything on it in a few days. Usually, I crochet during the race on Sunday, but that was a crazy-ass mess this week and wasn’t held until Monday afternoon and I ended up reading my Carrie Vaughn novel instead. I’m about a little over halfway through it. It seems to be a bit slower progressing than her last three were, but it’s still good. I’m enjoying it.

I’ve been out and about quite a bit the last week, so that’s kept me from doing a whole lot on the computer and at home. It’s definitely been a good thing, though. I just can’t wait until it gets warmer and I can be out of the house more. I have plans to be detached from the computer more. I need to be. I need to work on my health more.

Anyway, I thought I had more to post about, but I don’t. So, hope ya’ll are having a fabulous week.

Inexpensive Life Insurance

Feb-23-2008 By tyralyn

If you think about it, my title is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as inexpensive life insurance. At least not if you want decent coverage. You can find inexpensive life insurance quotes all over the place. If you want to get decent coverage, though, you have to be willing to spend some money. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that you have to go with a company that will be around. You have to check things out because what maybe be here today, may be gone when the time comes to cash in.

Again I say, Inexpensive life insurance is an oxymoron.

Dressing Up

Feb-23-2008 By tyralyn

So one of the things that I have always enjoyed about role play is the whole idea of being whomever you want. You can dress yourself in some sexy costumes and be someone you could never be in real life for whatever reason. For instance, you can role play a vampire or a cat. You can even dress up as a nurse for some interesting fun. It’s all about imagination and how well you can use it. You never know what kind of mood will strike when you play a role.

In life, however, you can’t just decide to be a naughty nurse in a short skirt. You have to actually maintain some decorum and, ya know, be licensed. ;)

YAY!

Your item was delivered at 2:07 PM on February 22, 2008 in *place removed for privacy reasons*.

Now I wait to hear whether she likes the blanket! *bounces some*

I have 20″ done on the pink baby blanket. 15″ to go. Then trim it off. Whee.

Out Of Bed!

Feb-22-2008 By tyralyn

“Out of bed, you lazy head!”

Seriously, that’s one of the most memorable movie lines to me and it wasn’t even a character, it was an alarm clock in the movie Sister Act.

Why did I bring that up? Because I am SO not a morning person, but I saw the coolest Flying Alarm Clocks and thought they were pretty damned cool. When the alarm sounds, a propeller launches and you can’t turn the alarm off until you get up and get the propeller. It’s a sure fire way to guarantee that someone gets out of bed when their alarm goes off.

Vat 19 has so many unique gifts that it’s not even funny. Check out the cool clip of the flying alarm clock and see what made me laugh so hard.
