30 Day Challenge: Day 8

Day 01: Something you’re looking forward to this year.
Day 02: Something you regret not having done last year.
Day 03: Something with which you struggle.
Day 04: Something that is part of your routine that you enjoy.
Day 05: Something in life that gives you balance.
Day 06: Something that excites you and fills you with joy.
Day 07: How do you feel about the holidays?
Day 08: Write about your worst relationship.

My worst relationship had to be the one who wanted to be with me. He came up to visit for a weekend. We went out on Friday night, had fun. We … that night.. my first.. We went to breakfast the next morning and he essentially broke up with me. Tried to get rid of me, so he could go hook up with a friend of his sister. Yeah… that was a waste. I could have said the next relationship was worse, for many reasons. However, I think P was worse because of what he did to me. He used me.

Breath…

I’ve been holding my breath lately, waiting for news. I got it today. GOOD NEWS! I’m so relieved. To celebrate the news, I went and ran errands. I’m such a party animal :P

I had stuff to do, been avoiding it cuz I’ve been waiting for a phone call. I did hit up a couple store for fun stuff, but I didn’t really buy much. Got a new shirt for me and a couple for my Mom, but that was it.

I got to play in dirt today. Started my watermelon and squash seeds, along with pansy seeds and set them up in the extra room. Hopefully it’ll be a good growing space. *fingers crossed*

Tonight, I’ve been chillin’. Called a good friend to let her know what was going on and get caught up on the gossip. Got online and was looking at a scorpion exo helmet. I saw one today and was curious how much they cost new. I’m surprised that they’re not that bad and they look really nice.

Now, however, I’m tired and ready to sleep.

30 Day Challenge: Day 7

Day 01: Something you’re looking forward to this year.
Day 02: Something you regret not having done last year.
Day 03: Something with which you struggle.
Day 04: Something that is part of your routine that you enjoy.
Day 05: Something in life that gives you balance.
Day 06: Something that excites you and fills you with joy.
Day 07: How do you feel about the holidays?

I find holidays to be tedious. I don’t think that we need to be celebrating something constantly. We don’t need a day to tell someone we love them. We don’t need a day to celebrate our parents. Easter has lost it’s meaning. Christmas has lost it’s meaning. Thanksgiving has lost it’s meaning. I think that holidays are seriously out of touch with what they were originally. I don’t really feel the need to celebrate the majority of them. Culture forces some of them on us, but we do our own thing.

Strange Calls

So, I got an odd phone call today. I get them all the time, usually calls for the people who had this number previously. That doesn’t bother me so much as the random calls that I get from time to time. Today it was a call from a raleigh nc cpa firm. I didn’t bother answering it because I had no reason to. Plus I was on the phone already. I don’t know if they left me a voice mail or not. I suppose I should check later.

The only reason I bothered checking to see who was calling is that I’m playing a waiting game with the doctor. I wish he’d call me already. *sigh*

Everything is Bigger in Texas

Content by Mac Kline

Everything is bigger and better in Texas! I recently met a cowboy, a rancher actually. I am at midlife age and when I reflect on my past relationships, I wonder sometimes if I should step outside my box. That is what I did when I was introduced to this guy. I asked him all kinds of questions about the state, the land, and the ranching business. The ranch environment to which I could grow accustomed is Ralph Lauren’s magnificent ranch in Telluride, Colorado. Oprah Winfrey interviewed him there and got a tour of the land and home. It was one of my favorite interviews! So, my new rancher friend and I discussed his business, the wide open space of his land, and then he asked me about my hobbies. While I love the outdoors, I also love to cook and entertain in my home. I am a television junkie, a mention that prompted me to ask about connections way out there. He laughed and assured me that Dish TV Texas provides for his television needs quite well.

Garden

I want to plant a garden. I want to create a container garden. I want to grow my own veggies. I want to grow flowers. I want to grow things, period. I don’t know if it’s an act of defiance or what, but I have this desire to create life.

One thing I’d like to do is start composting, but it seems like it’s so difficult to do. If you don’t have a compost tumbler, then you have to do it by hand and it can be kind of gross if you compost right on the ground like most do.

Perhaps this will be the year I get my garden to grow right. We’ll see.

30 Day Challenge: Day 6

Day 01: Something you’re looking forward to this year.
Day 02: Something you regret not having done last year.
Day 03: Something with which you struggle.
Day 04: Something that is part of your routine that you enjoy.
Day 05: Something in life that gives you balance.
Day 06: Something that excites you and fills you with joy.

Life excites me and fills me with joy. In light of recent events, any day that I’m still alive and breathing the air is a good day. I can not, under any circumstances, take that for granted. I just can not be put into that position any more. I have to make the most of every moment as much as I can. We’ll see how long that holds out for. :/

I Remember..

You know, the one thing that I miss from growing up was how easy it was to find window shades. Now, they have paper shades that you have to clip open. They area a pain in the arse to get to open because they’re a fan fold. They’re fine, if you open and close them regularly. For me, I keep my shade closed all winter, so when I tried to open it the first time this spring, it acted like it wasn’t folded any more. I miss the old roller shades that we used to have. Pull down on it a little and let it roll up. Those were pretty damn easy to use. Can we go back to the days of easy to use items?

30 Day Challenge: Day 5

Day 01: Something you’re looking forward to this year.
Day 02: Something you regret not having done last year.
Day 03: Something with which you struggle.
Day 04: Something that is part of your routine that you enjoy.
Day 05: Something in life that gives you balance.

Something that gives me balance is my family. I have so many things going on that my family is my balance. It seems like no matter what else is going on, I can count on my mother and husband to keep me grounded. I used to think it was my friends, but no, it’s most definitely my family. I think that’s how it should be, though.

Shopping

I want to go shopping. I need new clothing. Sadly, I don’t have the money or the inclination to actually go shopping. I’d send my husband shopping but he’d probably pick out hip hop clothes for me just to be an ass. I dislike picking out clothing, tbqh with you. I dislike shopping in general. Grocery shopping annoys me and frustrates me because of prices. Clothing shopping just.. ugh.. no comment.

So who wants to go shopping for me?
